Location of Skye

The Isle of Skye is situated on the north west coast of Scotland and is one of the group of islands known as the Inner Hebrides. It is a very beautiful and scenic part of the world with the U.K.s finest mountain range - The Cuillins.

The population of Skye is approxiametly 10 000 though this doubles in the tourist season with the influx of thousands of visitors from this country and abroad. The main industries are tourism, crofting and fishing although many new forms of employment, such as those based on IT, are being introduced.

Skye is now connected to the mainland by the Skye Bridge which although very convenient to use, has caused a great deal of controversy due to its excessive tolls.

Please visit the websites on the CONTACTS page to learn more about Skye, the Western Isles and the Highlands.
